FOUNDATIONS

Foundations consists of adaptive online assessments and online multimedia instructional material. Foundations was developed with the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University to ensure students have a baseline set of prerequisite skills to start an MBA program. The modules can also be used to ensure students have the prerequisite skills to start the junior year of a Bachelor's program in business. There are five Foundations modules:

  • Spreadsheets
  • Quantitative Skills
  • Probability and Statistics
  • Accounting
  • Financial Economics

For each module, schools select the skills the want assessed, the passing fraction of skills, and logos and messaging for the students before and after the assessment. Students then take an online adaptive assessment of those skills. A rich set of online multimedia instructional material is linked to the assessments so that students can quickly focus on the skills they were assessed as lacking without wasting time on other material covering what they already know. After reviewing the instructional material, students can retake the assessment covering only the skills they were previously assessed as lacking. Students iterate on this cycle until they demonstration competency as defined by the institution.

At any time, staff can view or download the results of the assessments. Students can purchase a module online for $60.

Volume discounts are available for schools that require one or more modules.
